Radio technosignature surveys are scaling up: new largest ATA campaign and a decade of Breakthrough Listen

Two reports from the past week highlight a significant expansion in radio technosignature searches. The SETI Institute's ATA-ASP campaign is the Allen Telescope Array's largest survey ever, targeting the anti-solar point—a game-theory Schelling point where an extraterrestrial civilization could detect Earth's transit—and has already produced 25 sky-localized drifting signals for re-observation. At the same time, a review of the first decade of Breakthrough Listen charts the program's evolution from raw-voltage recorders at Green Bank and Parkes to commensal GPU backends at the VLA, ATA, and MeerKAT, with a 42 PB storage estate and an outlook toward the SKA era. Together, these items show radio SETI moving from individual target observations to systematic, large-coverage, and infrastructure-intensive surveys, reflecting a maturing observational approach and a clear path toward next-generation facilities.
