2026 Total Solar Eclipse in Spain

On Aug. 12, 2026, a total solar eclipse occurred as the Moon passed directly between the Sun and Earth, completely blocking the Sun's face. Totality was visible along a path through parts of Greenland, Iceland, northern Russia, the Atlantic Ocean, Spain, and a small corner of Portugal.

A partial eclipse was seen in parts of the U.S., most of Canada, much of Europe, and northwest Africa. NASA's image, captured from San Millán de los Caballeros, Spain, shows the eclipse, and a recap is available on NASA's YouTube channel.
