SmallSat 2026
NASA will host booths (#635, 835, 641, 940) at SmallSat 2026 and present a multi-day agenda from August 24-26. Monday sessions open with a welcome from Jose Nunez, followed by BryceTech's "Smallsats by the Numbers" industry statistics, supply chain observations, technology shortfalls, and early science results from the SPARCS camera. Other talks cover JPL's Skyfall, SWIFT LINK reboost, NASA's Flight Opportunities hosted orbital ecosystem, rideshare-to-dedicated launch options via NASA LSP, MSFC and Ames Mission Design Center partnership opportunities, engineering lessons from a stellar launch cycle, and the HIAD payload return solution. An afternoon panel addresses conjunction assessment best practices with Lauri Newman and others.
Tuesday panels focus on solicitations and technology transfer, including SMD and STMD programs, CATALYST/I-Corps, SBIR/STTR, and agency-level tech transfer. Afternoon sessions cover SMD's APD Pioneers, "Science as a Service" for smallsat providers, HPD programs, and ESCAPADE's innovative exploration methods.
Wednesday highlights partnerships and smallsat initiatives with panels on CSLI, VADR, CLPS, rideshare, and NASA's SLSD. Mission highlights include JPL's INCUS, SMD's SWIFT Reboost, TRACERS, SunRISE constellation science, and STMD programs such as CAPSTONE 02, the R5 spacecraft series, GPDM, and DiskSat.
